This house is not primarily aimed at tourists, but rather at Professionals, Contractors, Locums and short term visitors to the island. Nevertheless, as one of our recent guests said, it has everything necessary for a comfortable stay while away from home.

Location

Situated just on the edge of town in a private housing development. The ferry terminal is only a few minutes’ drive. The airport is about 10 minutes’ drive. Car Hire available at both the airport and ferry terminal.

A short walk across the Castle Grounds and over the bridge takes you to Stornoway town centre or alternatively a few minutes drive past the large CoOp store.  

There is also Stornoway Golf Club, bowling green and children’s playpark. Walk a little further and you have the choice of either the Woodlands Centre Cafe or recently restored Lews Castle.  The latter hosts a cafe and museum which is well worth visiting.  There are dozens of circular walks around the Castle Grounds, great for kids and adults to explore, there is even a bike trail and segway hire in the summer months.

The University of the Highlands and Islands is within Lews Castle College campus, again within walking distance of The Green. Hospital nan Eilean is about a five-minute drive and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar well under ten minutes by car.

This modern house, built in the 90’s, has 2 bathrooms and either 3 or 4 bedrooms  – it’s up to you.

WiFi, fair use oil, electricity and bed linen included.

Downstairs:
WC and shower, dining room / single bedroom by prior arrangement, lounge and kitchen.

Upstairs:
Two double bedrooms and one single bedroom, Bathroom with bath and overshower.

Furniture, utilities and appliances:

This house is fully furnished as you would expect with a range of kitchen appliances including a washing machine, dryer, fridge, freezer, microwave, cooker, crockery and cutlery. The lounge includes leather reclining suite and electric coal effect fire. There is a condensing boiler, so you’ll have hot water on demand.
